The Dharmic faith of Socrates – Vedanta, Reincarnation in Greek philosophy

Consider this question – If Socrates is considered the father of western civilization, then why is his faith not the cornerstone of the west? What were these teachings that led to his persecution and death?

One of Plato’s most important dialogues is Phaedo. In the dialogue, Socrates expounds his philosophy to his students, hours before his execution. He talks about the transmigration of the soul which is due to the state of ignorance, and recollection of the true nature of the soul as the path to salvation. Plato’s writings and later Neoplatonic thought drew upon Vedantic thought to a significant degree.
