When did concepts of reincarnation, karma arise? The story of Dhruva – Thuban the ancient pole star

Philosophies are a reflection of the intellect for creativity of the people who came up with it. Why creativity or intellect? Because if you believe in what is said, if you believe in the statements, the concepts then we can talk about the intellect of the people who came up with the concept. If you believe they are figments of imagination then it at least it talks to the creativity of the people who came up with this concept. Think about it.

It is very easy to look up at the star studded ancient night sky and think of a glittering heaven. It is also very easy to get scared of thunder and lightning and come to a conclusion that powers beyond us are angry.

But it takes an enormous amount of creativity or intellect for an ancient to proclaim that the material world the world that we see around us is illusory we are all a part of the infinite consciousness and that without realizing that we’re part of this god energy we will be caught in an endless cycle of birth and death. This is a big leap in terms of intellect and or creativity.

This is why we want to understand the time when people started coming up with philosophies of reincarnation, Karma, Dharma and so on. Conventional wisdom states that the further you move into the past the more primitive the human is and more simpler the philosophy . But that’s not the case here.

How does the story of Dhruva in the Puranas tie into all of this?
